The Butterfly Release

Inspired by a day spent drawing at the Harvard Museum of Natural History, I found myself down a rabbit hole of patterns and intricacies of these winged creatures. Simple in composition, the pieces represent a stripping away to essentials. Nothing wild, nothing exotic; but a fervent trust in the rhythms of renewal. The paintings below are a selected collection, pared to my favorites from the series. I hope you enjoy.
