Ali & Ed fell in love under the Ibis birds, on a date at the Mosquito Supper Club where this piece originally hung. Several years later, living in New York by this time, and engaged, the couple were navigating weddings plans in the midst of the pandemic. Ali emailed me, out of the blue, about purchasing the piece that symbolized their early love. Then, Ed reached out with the same request! In the end, Ali’s swift timing won. The ibis birds floated behind the couple during their wedding ceremony, held court with the wedding party at the celebration, and proudly fly in the couple’s home.
I’ve always believed that each piece of art ends up exactly where it’s meant to be, and when. Art touches our souls, and speaks up when we sometimes least expect.
